A Telling Time
Unfettered success speaks well of a leader’s strengths, but so does the determination to reinvent a company and bring it back even stronger when its market is shaken by a significant or swift change. That’s what Lori’s known for — innovation, navigating change, leveraging the strengths of a business to make the strategic pivot into new opportunities, and creating engaged leaders and employees.
When a significant regulatory change stripped away a significant percent of a company’s customers, Lori led the creation of a new business model by leveraging the existing company assets: extraordinary client relationships, data and analytic capabilities, strategic partnerships, and most importantly, a culture of innovation that she’d intentionally built as CEO and nurtured over the years. The result: the company successfully launched a new product in less than six months creating a new era of significant profit growth. Those six months easily account for ten years of insight. But it wasn’t the new product launch or reinventing the company that Lori considers the hallmark of what she can do. It was building and leading an engaged team that didn’t flinch when troubles arose.
Her takeaway is simply this: If you want built-in business resiliency and sustainable success, you must intentionally and steadfastly create a company culture where employees welcome challenge, learning and innovation.
Beyond the Titles
Titles mean little to Lori. If you ask her, she’ll tell you what counts is the work you do to earn those titles. She’s earned the titles of CEO, Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Chairman of the Board, Strategic Advisor, Coach, Mentor, Wife, Mom, Community Volunteer, Animal Lover, Advocate for Domestic Violence Survivors, Trailblazer, and Overt Champion of Others. In each role, Lori says “comes personal responsibility for our failures and our successes.” Owning each of those has enabled her to be a leader who sees possibility in imperfection, has a profound belief in others’ potential, and whose only fear is missing opportunity’s knock. That’s why at IntentPlus, Lori holds the position of Chief Opportunity Officer helping clients find the opportunities inherent even in Oh, No moments.
